Eyeballs

SNAP SIR! That simple word could mean so much and if not obeyed could cause recruits to fly. Some platoons would say “Click” at the sound of EYEBALLS. Most civilians would not have a clue what “EYEBALLS” means. For those of you reading this it is simple and I will explain below.

A Marine DI uses the word EYEBALLS when he wants his recruits to look his way. It is very rare to get to look in the direction of a Marine DI without getting your eyes punched out. However there are certain times or periods of instruction that are best when the recruits are watching the drill instructors visual example. When a drill instructor is finished with his period of instruction he may say “Carry On” or “lock it up” or “Get your freakin eyeballs off of me.”
